Every Woman

I have received this list (originally written by Pamela Redmond Satran) via email a few times and absolutely love it.  I saw it again recently on the She-essence blog, so thought I would share…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
enough money within her control to move out and rent a place of her own, even if she never wants to or needs to…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
something perfect to wear if the employer, or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
a youth she’s content to leave behind…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
a past juicy enough that she’s looking forward to retelling it in her old age…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
one friend who always makes her laugh…and one who lets her cry…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal, that will make her guests feel honored…

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
a feeling of control over her destiny…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
how to fall in love without losing herself…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
how to quit a job, break up with a lover, and confront a friend without ruining the friendship…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
when to try harder… and when to walk away…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
that she can’t change the length of her calves, the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
that her childhood may not have been perfect…but its over…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
what she would and wouldn’t do for love or more…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
how to live alone…even if she doesn’t like it…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
whom she can trust, whom she can’t, and why she shouldn’t take it personally…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
where to go… be it to her best friend’s kitchen table…or a charming inn in the woods… when her soul needs soothing…

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW…
what she can and can’t accomplish in a day…a month… and a year…

Do I Sudoku?

Michelle at Tonic Gifts asks…Do you Sudoku?  And my answer is most definitely “Yes, I do!”

sudoku.jpgI had watched friends and family intently doing these little puzzles for a long time with no intention or interest…simply thought “phuh, what a waste of time.”

That was until I was sitting with nothing to do at the market one cold, wet and windy afternoon…with the exception of 2 little sudoku puzzles on the back of a newsletter.

I looked over it a couple of times, wondering how it worked…then decided to read the instructions.  Well, I finished the first in just under an hour…which I thought wasn’t too bad for a first attempt!  But from then on I have been hooked, and have even picked up a cute little electronic sudoku puzzle that I throw into my handbag for times when I might be waiting around.

A little bit of fun for Friday

While browsing Diva Days blog recently… I found this great little game/quiz to find out “what type of chocolate are you?”

Now, being the chocolate lover I am, I couldn’t resist following the link to check it out myself.  Apparently I am….

You are Milk Chocolate

A total dreamer, you spend most of your time with your head in the clouds.

You often think of the future, and you are always working toward your ideal life.
Also nostalgic, you rarely forget a meaningful moment… even those from long ago.

What Kind of Chocolate Are You?

Proposal Pendant…

I had the pleasure of sharing in a special moment recently when one of my lovely customers presented an idea for her daughter.  Janene, knowing her daughter loved to do things a little differently, thought…  “wouldn’t it be great if Mel proposed to her boyfriend using a photo engraved pendant.”

What a fantastic idea…not only is it different, but you have a permanent memory of the special event!!

Words from Janene…

Well you might have guessed !!!! “BUT” Melissa proposed to Jamie using your totally amazing photo proposal pendant and after a stunned silence and with tears in his eye’s Jamie said “YES”…….

It was the most amazingly beautiful moment we will all treasure for a lifetime… She gave him a few small Anniversary presents first, then the photo pendant… He was excited when he opened it to see it was another of your pendants (lol 3rd one now, and a special occasion tradition for Jamie and Mel).

Then, she was like…read it, so he looked at the picture and then turned it over and started reading it!!! Tears started to well up and he looked up at her as she slid down on her knee’s repeating word for word what was on the pendant “BABY I LOVE YOU” “WILL YOU MARRY ME”? and holding out an Engagement ring (that had been stored down her top LOL)!!!

It was the most amazing idea, she pulled it off so well, and so beautifully, it was so special!!!

Congratulations Melissa and Jamie!!  I wish you every happiness for your future together and thank you for allowing us to share your special moment!
